I have some big, fat news! We are coming home very, very soon! The circumstances that lead us here are not the best, but I do believe that the brightest outcome is ahead! We put in for a compassionate reassignment to Fort Carson, CO because we have a kiddo with ADHD that is really struggling here. And unfortunately, Guam is just too small to have the support system that we need. We are lucky enough to have a therapist that recognized that early on and has given us this opportunity.
To be honest, I had a hard time with this decision at first because we have never had an assignment shortened, or turned one down or done anything but what the Army has asked of us and it seemed a bit like we weren't "finishing" what we started, but now I couldn't be more relieved and excited! We are praying that Fort Carson is where we land because we have family there and it is where we plan to retire. I would love nothing more to buy a "forever" home and plant some roots and let our little ones grow up with their cousins! I'm dreaming of painted walls and never, ever stressing about clearing housing again! So, if you think of it, we'd love your prayers and well wishes!
This blog chronicles the lives of the Caffee Clan: Brian, Kelly, Josh, Jason, Lauren and Katelyn as we navigate life as a large, loud, military family that lives on the verge of complete chaos! I'm Kelly, AKA "Mom", "Mama", "Babe" or the "1SG's wife", I am 39, a work-at-home-mom that dreams of someday being rich and famous. Uh huh, right! In reality, I love photography, scrap booking, healthy eating and cooking, my family, music and dancing!! I have a fetish for gross medical stuff, like unusual diseases or strange growths, and sometimes I wish I was a midwife. As you read, you might notice that I have an slight obsession with cleaning and germ-avoidance, but do not fret, I am aware and I am working on it. And I love making lists! I have lots of opinions about lots of things and this is what is represented here! I'm not always right (wait, I'm NOT??) but I always have something to say!!!
