So here's the deal - I have a little "habit" that may be annoying to some people. Heck, it can be annoying to me. BUT, I think everyone has little quirky behaviors that make us unique. I like to refer to them as quirks. And I have A LOT of quirks!
This is how this post came about....
I was in the shower and thinking about not having anything to blog about lately and I so I asked my hubs, who happened to be standing at the sink, for some ideas. Somewhere in that really random conversation that included carabao, football, bad habits and going to the beach, I asked if I had any behaviors that were unique to just me. He replied "not really" and then emphatically turned to face me and threw his hands up in the air and shouted "YOU TALK WITH YOUR HANDS ALL THE TIME, THAT"S SO "YOU"!"
Uh huh. Nice.
(frown face, squinty eyes)
Well, I guess that it's true.
(open eyes)
No, it's true.
(really open eyes)
Really true.
(really open eyes + shoulder shrug)
I do that all.the.time.
(little hops while saying all.the.time)
In fact, if you were talking to me in real life, I probably would have hit you by now. (Hit)
I can't "just talk".
(shakes head)
I have to express myself with lots of wild gestures and crazy faces.
(crazy face, wild hands)
When I tell someone that my kid vomited, I can't just say "my kid vomited".
(more head shaking)
NO WAY!!!!
I have to act out the whole scene.
With sound effects, too.
"GAG, WRETCH, SPLAT"
If I didn't give you all the details, you wouldn't get the full effect of the point I was making.
Duh!
(smack to the forehead)
What can I say.
(eye roll)
I'm quirky that way.
(sigh)
What is your little "quirk" that makes you YOU?
Be easier to figure out what I do that isn't a quirk. How about this one- I flip the bird to any object I happen to accidently drop as it falls.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny. I could totally picture having this conversation with you and all of your gestures!
ReplyDeleteLove you.
