"Never fo' a second did I think to let my light shine
Hardheaded, thought I was grown, messin up
Disrespectin my home, not carin 'bout what moms what sayin
And then I found out that mom wasn't playin
Today, I love you for it, back then, I couldn't understand"
Hardheaded, thought I was grown, messin up
Disrespectin my home, not carin 'bout what moms what sayin
And then I found out that mom wasn't playin
Today, I love you for it, back then, I couldn't understand"
~ Snoop Dogg
Oh yes, sir.
This is how I teach my kids the hard life lessons.
I am a super Mom ~
I'm down with the gangsta rap
AND
I can glean pearls of wisdom from it.
Ok, so that's totally a lie.
I had to Google those lyrics.
BUT....
earlier this week, we were listening to some random Guam station
in the car and some random rap song came on
and my J-boy says:
"Mama, I don't like Snoop's music,
but I DO think he's a good person now
because he stopped doing all those drugs."
| Prior to the redemptive behavior |
See, redemption.....lesson learned.
*sigh*
One of my favorite songs is "Dear Mama" by Tupac, so I know whatcha mean!
ReplyDeleteSee who said Snooops all bad?
ReplyDeleteHahaha, ladies!!! I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I used to have dreams about Snoop Dogg!
ReplyDeleteI can still sing some Snoop lyrics by heart....sigh....
